Auction Watch 14.2012

A really nice variety of vintage and retro pieces coming up this week, and strangely all the Bjorn Wiinblad pieces that were "sold" last week have re-appeared so I'm not sure what is going on there??.....but I got the ones I really wanted last week anyway. The stand out piece this week is the Gunda vase, which is such an Australian Modernist classic, and highly sought after. If you like this style, click on the link under the image to read all about the story of this wonderful pottery.

There are a few interesting "bay lots" as well, but the images are pretty poor and don't show anything reallly - but you will certainly see them here if I manage to buy them and clean them up a bit :)

These Bitossi candle holders are just superb ,
but they have small chips - so annoying!
Swoon.  A GUNDA vase. (Australia 1970's) made by
Gundars Zigurts Lusis - follow the link above - some superb pieces
The auction estimate is $50-$80 - but will go for $200-$300
Clarice Cliff - (Wedgwood under licence)
While not made by CC herself - The Wedgwood CC
still goes for quite high prices $200-$300

I love the design of this English Retro set by Foley
may go for only $30.

Some nice little pieces of Bitossi - and again annoyingly chipped
but could still go over $100.

Somehow I missed this group of what looks like West German pottery
when I went to view - some nice shapes there. Price hard to know, maybe
around $100
2 lovely Arabia Finland pieces - $50-$80

  1. Everytime I see Bitossi I get this overwhelming urge to own every piece. That's not normal, surely.

    1. Yes, very easily chipped unfortunately...but still better than buying the re-released stuff I think.
