Well.... I did not expect to end up with these in my hands after last week's auction....but they were re-listed for sale again after an error last week.....but that is the thing with auctions - you just never know what is going to happen! I couldn't believe the lack of bidding on these 2 lovelies by Bjorn Wiinblad.
I got a few other things I wanted, except for 2 very interesting bay lots of Danish goodies I had my eye on ...and obviously so did many others - so I dropped out as the price got beyond the value.
The first quite large piece V24, at 21 cm tall was made in 1977 at Vaerskted, and the second 18cm tall piece quite early - 1968, K3 from Vaerskted. I love how you can see the brushmarks on them, and how with just a few brushstrokes these pieces have been bought to life and are so full of personality.

I was at an auction a couple of months back where a blue/white lady head vase with 4 candle holders on the rim made a strong price... they are just a great sort of quirky !
ReplyDeletelucky you.....the 4 candle holder ones go for very high prices....I've never seen one in real life ...yet anyway. I love the one on horseback with the candleholders.
