This piece was amongst one of the large bay lots of assorted Danish pottery I bought some time ago, which I have almost finished identifying etc - but this piece is the odd one out (and to me doesn't look Danish - but I could be wrong).
It looks like it's from the late 1980s going by the design and use of bright colour. That blue is so blindingly intense. The bowl if made from very fine, almost transparent "eggshell" porcelain....which requires a degree of skill to work with.
I haven't yet found a European potter with the initials RF except for Ray Finch (U.K.) and it is definitely not one of his......



I like the effect the barium glaze has made, very big in the 90's, could it be Australian?
ReplyDeleteHi Pippa...yes Australian was my first thought too - that colour was very big then...it may have just got mixed up in the auction house with Danish gear.
