Auction Watch 24.2012

There is an amazing amount of "industriana" in addtion to the usual collectable gear this week - from old signage, to massive wooden filing cabinets to just plain "junk" - but there is a market for everything.. Some of the more fascinating things are lengths of HUGE shipping ropes - which I have never seen close up - just fascinating - it is just so massive in size and would make a great piece of architectural decor in a warehouse conversion.

First to the pottery and glass though:

A few nice pieces of RC Fajance.
Some Holmegaard and other yellow glass pieces

Lovely large "biomorphic" shape dish - looks like Michael Andersen - but it is not marked
except for an "X" on the base. Very 1950s.

A charming Bird Plaque - Michael Andersen - looks like a
Marianne Starck piece
Such a superb colour and transparency. V&B art glass vase - looks
resonablyl recent.

Some interesting West German pieces with a Danish "pumpkin"jug

And then to some wonderful, at times bizarre items:

Antique Skittles and bowling balls
You never know when you will need to tie up a ship1

There are also a large number of vintage maps this week - around $150 ea

Some great enamel signs and advertising - usually around $100ea

5 rolls or original 1970s wallpaper - great pattern  - will be very $$$$

This is just AMAZING! (above and below)

TOY SNAIL - Vintage Rare Mobo Tin Snail Rocker EST. $400-$500 !

  1. I love that bird plaque; my husband would have loved the rope and I wonder if our Earthquake Commission would pay for wallpaper bought at auction?
