It's odd how some of the work of designers from Royal Copenhagen/Aluminia you tend to see all the time, and others like Grethe Helland Hansen much less often.
This is actually the first piece I have had by Grethe - a large punch bowl from the Tenera range in the 1960's, which I picked up a few weeks ago.
Grethe was a Norwegian designer who created some outstanding patterns for the Tenera sereis of which this is one. Originally this piece would have had a ceramic ladle and cups to go with it.
I think for today's use it would make a fantastic plant holder - I can imagine a sculptural blue green succulent sitting inside it on a moderinist Danish sideboard :)
