I purchased 1 lot only from today's auction which was a small group including this lovely Hornsea Slipware Vase.
It has the backstamp from 1956-1962 - and I love the "tribal" vibe about it, which was very popular at the time everywhere in all aspects of design.
The top of it reminds me of a baby bird's beak open and waiting to be fed!

Lovely Ray! ;)
ReplyDeleteVery nice and quite rare. Originally made as an oil bottle or vinegar jug, It's from the Hornsea studio slipware range and it dates from 1959. A good find.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info. I loved the decoration on it - rarely see Hornsea slipware here of any type, so it was a lucky find.
