Auction Watch 31.2012

Again, not a huge amount in the way of Vintage or Danish pottery this week, but quite a bit of glassware and a lot of cast iron curios of which I have chosen a few to post.

A very nice Shelley handpainted vase
There are some lovely pieces of Italian glass this week including
this bottle/vase and the Murano piece below. I have had the piece
above in Lime Green and Chocolate before. Very Retro.

Something I have never seen or heard of before - Temuka Stoneware
from New Zealand.

Quite a few of these huge "carboy"s - (chemical bottles)

A very cute insect door knocker in cast iron
MONEY BOX - Cast Iron Pig
Cute Piggy money box in cast iron!

...and some very unusual fishbone coat hangers
DRAGONFLIES - Cast Iron Pair
  Cast iron dragon flies

  1. Neat to see the Temuka stoneware. I think this design is called Riverstone. Very popular - ubiquitous even - during the 70s and 80s. I know people not much older than me (52 tomorrow) who still have sets in their Kiwi kitchen cupboards. Judging by a recent Dinner service sale on Trade Me, Riverstone is due for a resurgence in popularity. The Temuka factory still operates by the way and can be visited in... Temuka.
I featured some Riverstone tankards on my blog last year:
