This is such a lovely design with its matt bright white background, grey gloss lids and a really delicate but stylish - it has an almost a Japanese feel about the design with that delicate calligraphy like brushwork.
One of my favourite early designs from Denby.
It's so simple and stylish. It's interesting how it works on the different forms - busier on the salt and pepper pots and spare on the platter.
ReplyDeleteYou have a very sharp Design eye there Jeneane, I hadnt thought about that before, but you are right - the motif doesnt seem to change size whatever piece it is on - maybe someting to do with having to repeat it over and over with accuracy.
