I see you as such an authority on Mid-Century china and pottery, but I love the way you show us things you've never come across before. Pity about the dearth of Danish. Can you make do with pastries? I especially gobble up the 60s and 70s English dinnerware and coffee sets you come up with, but the cubist tea service is remarkable, those annodised cannisters looking - like the mixer - unused, and Clarice Cliff still looking good.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeneane, while I identify more closely with mid-century ceramics, I love all things well made really - the early 20th Century would have to be my next favourite era - so many fascinating styles - from Clarice Cliff to Cubism to Bahaus. Years as an Art Teacher probably helped develop this interest :)
DeleteDanish! I think I have scoured every antique store within a 20km radius and purchased any Danish items they have had in the past few weeks,so now it is just a matter of waiting until new shipments arrive.
I am going to move, and have to get rid of some things, some of my collected pottery is danish... well i live in dk:+) should've i send you some pictures?
DeleteHi Ellen, perahps put a picture of them on the facebook page....I am in Australia so postage would be too much too here, but others might be interested.
