Kilncraft Stoneware Trio

If you wait long enough in collecting, usually things just reveal themselves to you. You might remember in July when I put up this photograph of a superb Kilncraft design I came across in a charity shop.

Well last week, in the same charity shop I found some more pieces of this design - so I was able to finish 2 cup and saucer trios!  This design is just so good - I love the deep reddish brown terracotta and the greenish grey of the glaze which allows a hint of the clay colour through. The forms are so good as well. Love to see a whole dinner setting of this design.

Also with these saucers and plates were some saucers in the same design with a cream coloured glaze - but it doesn't look anywhere near as good......although I suppose I should have got some just for reference! - better go back there again :)
