Laurids Lonborg Eggcups
Finding Danish pottery has become a bit harder lately, so I have been scouring secondhand shops, antique shops and charity stores in the hope I will come across some.
Recently in this search I found these gorgeous Laurids Lonborg acrylic egg cups - it is only the second time I have seen anything from Laurids Lonborg in real life, so I was delighted to find them. They are made of a very hard acrylic that feels like ceramic - but their light weight feel is a give away.
The blue tonings are just wonderful - and such a 1970s design. The designer was Dorthe Bruun Rasmussen - although her name is about all I have been able to find out about these pieces.
A very collectable maker apparently - also known for their teak items.

Wow, I just bought a salt/pepper set in that design last week, and I haven't seen that design before either :) But then again, I live in Denmark, and have easier access to Lønborg items ;) Your eegcups are really nice.
ReplyDeleteNice, I would love to get hold of more of this design.. I have seen the plate online.
