Trude Barner Jespersen for Bing & Grondahl

I found this wonderful large fruit bowl a few weeks ago in the back room of a local second hand store. It stood out to me like a beacon, and I could see it was a superbly designed piece - but other than being from Bing & Grondahl I didn't know the designer.

However a few days ago on Pinterest I found it was part of a series by designer Trude Barner Jespersen, originally designed and released in 1969 and 1970. Apparently now pretty hard to come by.

The satiny white porcelain glaze is such a pleasure to touch, and the skillfully applied oxide decoration really set the piece apart from the ordinary.
