Updates

Forum: The forum on Flickr hasn't really taken off the way I thought it would despite some great contributions - and I am pretty sure it is because although it is easy enough to use if you have an account, it is not user friendly if you don't. I also find personally that each time I am logged out of it, it takes a number of attempts to log back in because of its messy links and connections with Yahoo.

So what I am going to do is close the Flickr Forum down at the end of this month - and instead I encourage readers to use the Facebook page for this blog which is so much easier to use - there you can post photos, comments, videos etc. Its already a busy and friendly place, and hope it will become even busier. It seems anyway, that many of you are already on Facebook - so it is a much more seamless exercise.

Price Guide: or the website that was the priceguide - still mapping out how to set the whole thing up with galleries etc and link this blog into it - although If the photo uploading situation doesn't improve on Blogger I might have to bight the bullet and move the whole lot to my own hosted website....which changes things again.  Time getting all this done is the biggest issue though.

Pinterest: Pinterest really is as good as they say - if you havent tried it yet give it a go - you will be addicted in no time!
I have set up a seperate pinterest board for selected items for sale from my eBay store - they have prices listed in pinterest style, and they each click through to the ebay listing. As things are sold I am leaving the prices on - but removing the $ sign so It doesnt appear as if they are still for sale. This may be an alternative to having a separate Price Guide on a blog  maybe- so I will be interested to see how it goes. So far so good.

I have also found so many superb designs of vintage and retro pottery since being on Pinterest...including so many makers and designs that I had never seen or heard of before.

Today's Post: I was all set to do a new post last night when I came under attack by spam emails flooding my inbox, originating from my internet provider strangely - so the dreaded phone call to sort it out....which of course they had no idea of how to.

After 1 hour or so I just gave up (well the person I was speaking to seemed to just go off shopping or something and leave the phone unattended) and I shut everything down and left it until this morning - only to find out - what they had done. To fix it what they did is just shut down my whole account!

So another 3 hours this morning to sort it out - and yes the spam attack had been indirectly caused by them, because they had forgotten to remove completely the hosting details/configuration of an old website I had with them which was associated with one of my email addresses - leaving it all open for a hackers to party.

The good thing out of all this wasted time is at least I will be getting quite a nice refund of hidden costs I was being charged for which I had previously questioned, and they simply found it all too hard to sort out until today - when I got someone who knew what they were doing and sorted out the whole complex mess that it had become.

I'm sure the whole Internet is one day just going to get in such a mess it is going to implode and it will have to start over from scratch!

New Purcahses: I didnt buy anything at auction this week, but here are two interesting candleholder finds from last week. From later this month until early December is when all the auction houses here have their busiest period, so there should be finds-a-plenty.

Looks like Soholm - but it is actually Michael Andersen & Son

A lovely shape from the Burgundia range by Soholm

The next post will be on Auction Watch day....all things working that is :)
