The Orange 1970's retro set below that includes a set of unused ramekins!. Orange is always such a popular colour, no matter what the object it seems.
I haven't seen this salt box design before - it is one of Ellen Malmer's designs for RC - I have had some small vases in this design. Below that is quite lovely Knud Khyn wall tile for Royal Copenhagen.
This English Art Noveau jug below, has such a wonderful pattern and colours - made around 1920 - but timeless.
Below that is a Holmgaard milk glass bottle with quite a delicate drawing. There are some lovely pieces in this milk glass range from the 1970s.
These Noritake harlequin coffee cups are always popular, and tend to attract a lot of buyers/bidders. The colours are always so good.
Some lovely little Christmas themed Holmegaard bottles ....(for Schnapps?)
Quite a few West German pieces this week too - these are 2 of the better ones I think:
And finally this sign is an absolute stunner - enamelled metal with little wear - and expected to go for around $300-$400.

I'm loving the dish Ray and why is orange so popular? But my big question is how do wall plaques/ tiles get hung up. I have never seen one in the wild, only pics so I thought I'd ask? :)
ReplyDeleteOrange Im guessing it is because it is such a retro type colour that defined an era and as it is so often close to red in hue makes it an impulsive colour maybe?
DeleteNearly all Danish wall plaques or tiles have a built in hanger or hook well(often with strong wire added after firing) as part of the design - The Danes think of everything!. On the rare occassion they dont there is a lip or ledge all the way around which can be used anyway.
Thanks Ray, I will experiment! :)
DeleteIt would have been wonderful to see a good shot of the actual ramekins. Oh who am I kidding? What would be really wonderful is to actually have them this autumn.
ReplyDeleteYes a photo would have been good.....I loved ramekins of all tyes. I think it is time they made a huge comeback! The photos I use are from the online auction catalogues...sometimes it easy to miss out on some real gems that arent photographed that clearly - but I suppose with over 1500 items every week usually it is only possible to take snaps:)
