Auction Watch 49

Here we go with the first Auction Watch for 2013. I was having thoughts about not continuing with it this year as I thought  it might become boring...but I have had so many emails from people saying how much they look forward to it.
Although there are some weeks it is hard to find a items with the "wow" factor, there is always at least one piece that is a "must have" :)

Quite a nice cross section of pieces and styles today over 2 auctions coming up this week. I would be happy to get any of these lots if the price was right!

A collection of Nymolle plates, not sure of the Artist - although I know it is not Wiinlbad. The one
in the middle is the most interesting I think.

A large and lovely hand painted Arabia Platter.

Probably not something I would buy - but the amount of work that has gone into
this large handmade leather carry bag is astonishing - it is just so beautifully crafted with
exquisite detailing. Looks like it would last 100 years or more. It's the shape of a
Doctor's bag.

I have never been a fan of Pewter - but this has changed my mind - it is HAUGRUD Norway
and has some great shapes - with that typical 1960s deeply etched decoration on each design.

A rather cute Wade Ireland candle holder

2 lovely small English retro pieces

I've always wanted one! - A Carlton Ware money box

Quite a nice Johnson Brothers 1950s coffee setting

  1. The Nymolle plate in the middle could be Ib Spang Olsen - it´s a bit hard to tell from the photo. He was a very beloved Danish illustrator and writer who died last year. I recently saw a Nymolle plate illustrated by him. They are rather rare but I didn´t buy it. Could be a mistake ;-)

    1. Hi Birgitte....yes you are right - I had a look at the back. The middle one was the best.... I didnt know their value and these pieces were getting a bit expensive for my likes.
