Laholm Sweden

The lovely looking pot here was with the group of West German beauties I bought last week, but it was obviously not West German. At first I thought it might be Italian, but it turns out to be made by Laholm, Sweden.  I haven't found out anything about the Pottery yet, except that it was in the town of Laholm in Sweden.

It is a terracotta piece, tin glazed and hand painted with overglaze colours - and a carved relief design which would have been done while still damp.

Its a great pattern, and I love the use and combination of colours. A quick search on eBay, etsy, or google images and you will find many in this pattern and also some other lovely pieces from this pottery.

Another maker that I will be on the look for know that I know what to look for :)

  1. They are lovely! A pitty you can´t read Swedish. There is a entry on Laholm at "signaturer.se" but you can at least get some names on the artists working there and perhaps use google translate?/ Birgitte
